Almost There
We have been moving at a pretty good speed, 18 knots, the last couple days. Winds are predicted for tomorrow and the captain want to be in port before they arrive. We will be in Honolulu around midnight but unable to leave ship until the morning. Who would want to leave in the middle of the night anyway?
‘The top photo is a clear, calm, sunny day outside our stateroom. Right now we have some clouds and a bit rougher sea. Today was bird day in art class. I am including Bunny’s peacock, which is beautiful. I am NOT including my Macaw. Which is awful!. Today’s trivia was all about Hawaii. We didn’t do so well. We played a round of cards. Then Bunny went to the jacuzzi and I sat on our balcony reading. I will get back to jacuzzi as soon as a scrape heals.
‘We went to an interesting talk on turtles at 4:30. I didn’t realize they are so endangered. Whenever I travel and want to bring home a little memento, I buy a little turtle. I bought one in Cartagena, Colombia and I’m sure a couple more will find me along the way.
Tonight is American night in the World Cafe. I sure hope it’s good. The magician is on again in the theater. Not sure we’ll go. We weren’t too impressed with his first show. We’re looking forward to being on land again in Honolulu. I’ll get to take off my compression bands for a day and a half. They have been working really well. As long as I don’t look at the ocean when it’s rough, I’m fine.
‘we’re going to a luau tomorrow evening. Should be fun.
Photos are of a rainbow at breakfast, the roast pig at lunch. It looks gross but it was very good. There’s Bunny’s peacock, unfinished, and the Winterhaven, where we had high tea yesterday. It’s a beautiful place with very uncomfortable seating. Every seat is too deep to lean back.
