On the way to New Zealand

we’re back at sea for another long stretch. The captain comes on every day with his navigation report. We have gone 300 nautical miles and still have 1000 nautical miles to go. At least the sea is relatively calm.

We were back to art class. We’re painting a turtle. I’m so glad she has pictures we can transfer to our papers. I got the background painted. Tomorrow I’ll paint the turtle and kelp. I went to the lounge early to get our seats for Trivia. I had a crossword puzzle with me to pass the time til others showed up. We’re talking about all 10 of us having dinner one evening.

we had a quick lunch in the Cafe, then went to play cards. We played Five Crowns. I won for a change and Bunny had the highest points. We came back to the room and I read while Bunny worked on photos on her laptop. We went to dinner around 7:00 and played a game until time to go to the Dancing Under The Stars at the pool. I didn’t dance because I didn’t want to screw up my knee, but Bunny got up and danced. After a while we went up to the lounge at the front of the ship and listened to the guitar player. I have a new favorite drink. They have Tanguerey gin with no alcohol in it. So I can have a gin and tonic any time I want.
We set our watches/phones back an hour tonight, so we’re 3 hours ahead of CA., I think. Pretty soon I won’t know what day you’ll be on because we cross the International Date Line.

Sorry about the beginning of the post yesterday. The auto correct/spell check thing went a bit nuts.

Photos: top photo is another shot of Venus Point black sand beach, a photo of the Tahitian Dancers from last night, the pool deck with Dancing sign, and the full moon behind the ship, and a Tiki statue from Easter Island at the City Hall in Papeete.
