Confusion
Another sea day. I went to calligraphy. Since I am a lefty, I’m finding it difficult to do. I did come up with a monogram, which is what I wanted to do. Now I just have to perfect it. Then I went to a lecture by our favorite lecturer. He talked about who owns the China Sea. We are sailing through it right now. There are several countries that border the sea, China being one of them. They think it should belong to them. Other countries don’t agree. It’s been in the news from time to time. A Chinese naval vessel just collided with a Malaysian vessel and injured several Maylasian sailors. It was an interesting talk. He ended with , don’t worry we aren’t sailing through the contested area.
We went to trivia and cards. I went to a lecture about Ella Fitzgerald. Interesting. The lecturer played a clip of her singing with Duke Ellington on the Ed Sullivan Show. He talks about a different performer every lecture.
‘Then we went to guest services to find out when the deadline is for backing out of India trip. Oops, it was yesterday at 2 PM. Bunny didn’t feel that she could do some of the activities and I was concerned about the heat. The man we spoke to was very nice and checked with the person in charge of excursions. No such luck. So it looks like we will suffer through the heat and crowds to see the Taj and New and Old Delhi. At the same time this was going on, the tickets for the Africa ports were delivered to our rooms. I ran up and got the tickets. We didn’t get first choice in one place but we did in another, so we have at least one safari. One port we got nothing. We are waitlisted for the safari there. Who knows what will happen there.
The entertainment tonight was the singer that did a lot of Rod Stewart last time. Tonight he did songs people had requested. It was a good show. Saigon tomorrow. It will be hot but hopefully not so humid.
Photos tonight are the sunset and the new chef in Manfredi’s. Our Italian specialty restaurant He is Mr Singh, couldn’t pronounce his first name! We had a pasta bar in the Cafe tonight. It was good.
