Eden, Australia
The morning photo is of a cave in the harbor at Eden. We had a panoramic tour of the area. We first drove to a city up in the hills. The area we drove through reminded me of farm/forest areas at home. Except there were wild cockatiels flying through the trees. The first town we stopped in was a typical small town with a nice downtown area. I found post cards and we went to the post office to get stamps and mail them. Then I added to the town’s economy by buying a couple shirts. We then drove to another small town, pictured below. I found the local market and bought protein bars so we’d have something to snack on rather than eat the local food. We’re trying to prevent the stomach problems again.
‘We then drove to the town of Eden. One passenger asked if there would be a garden there. The bus driver said yes there is, it’s an RV park. We went to the Whale Museum which holds the skeleton of Old Tom, an orca that helped the whalers in the area. Old Tom and other orcas would lure other whales into the bay so the whalers could catch them. Then the orcas would feed off them before the whalers processed them. From there we went to a lookout point where we could see two bays. Then it was back to the ship. It started raining just as the ship was pulling out of the dock.
‘Bunny was confined to the cabin, just as I was to get better. She’s still a little iffy. We’re hoping she’s better for Sydney tomorrow. I went to dinner with Betty and Rudy, then we went to the show. It was by the Cover Girls, a 3 woman group that sang a mixture of songs. They were just OK and the first show they did was really great. I’ll be up early to watch the ship sail in to Sydney Harbor-5:00 AM. Better get to bed!
