Getting Ready

It’s a good thing we were at sea today. We are sailing in the Laccadive Sea. Ever heard of it? Neither have I. It’s a very calm sea so I’m happy. We arrive in Cochin, India in the morning. We have a tour in the morning, then back for lunch and final preparations for our India tour. We have to go through face to face immigration. The whole ship has to get off and go through it by 9:30 AM. It will be a mess. Our tour is to meet at 8:30 in the theater, then go to immigration together.
‘Our luggage has to be out tonight so everything else will have to be carried on. We are going to a hotel in Cochin tomorrow night, so I can carry a bag of things besides my purse and backpack.

I did go to art class and made another little card with the quilling paper. I enjoy that and may try it when I get home. Then I went to a lecture by my favorite guy, Russell Lee. He talked about the history of India with Bollywood movies. It was very entertaining. Then I went to Trivia. It was about India. We didn’t know very much but one of the waitresses in the lounge snuck us a few answers. We know we will never win, so we don’t mind a bit of help now and then! While I was doing all this, Bunny was in the room packing. She was done in time to play cards, so I had the room to myself to get packed. It worked out very well.
We had dinner at the Chef’s Table specialty restaurant. It’s a fixed menu with wines paired with each course. I only drink a small glass of white wine, regardless of the menu. Tonight the menu was soft shelled crabs, I had chicken, lamb chops with okra and eggplant. I only ate the lamb chops. They were delicious. There was a small cheesecake with plums on it. Also very good.
‘Now we need to get to bed to be ready nice and early tomorrow..

I’m taking my iPad with me so I hope to be able to post every night, but I’m not sure about hotel WiFi. We’re staying in a Marriott and a Meridian, so they should have WiFi. But don’t worry if I miss a day or so. We have a 4:30 AM wake up to see the Taj at sunrise so I may crash on that evening. Then we have a 2:30 AM departure for Delhi airport on the return. Don’t they know we’re old and that’s not an easy thing?? We’ll manage!

No new photos but I forgot the snake guy and the monkey man, so you get those. There is also a huge container ship we passed on the way out of the port, plus my daily balcony shot.
