Goodbye Vietnam
We set sail around 1 PM on Monday. We had no tours today so I splurged and called the kids this morning. It was Monday morning here and Sunday night there. It was good to hear their voices. Then a friend sent pix of the front of the house. After seeing them and talking to kids, I got homesick!
‘We went for a final splurge at the tent market by the ship. Everyone else had the same idea. We didn’t get there until 11:20 or so. Our room TV said temp was 94. It sure felt like it. I bought a couple more pairs of the lightweight pants, a t shirt(not for me), a foldable Chinese coolie hat, some nuts and crackers and a scarf for a gift. I think I’m done with gift shopping. My American dollars aren’t lasting very long so my shopping days may be limited. Bunny and I will get Indian Rupees from an ATM when we get there. Hopefully we can change back what we don’t use before we leave India. So far, most people have been very happy to take American dollars in the markets. Some will even take credit cards.
‘I’m including the water puppet photos from 2 nights ago. It was pretty amazing how they manipulated the puppets. The one with boys playing in the water had them doing the backstroke, breast stroke and jumping around in the water. The dragons were pretty amazing too. They squirted water from their mouths as they were fighting each other. The dragon boat race was good too. They lined them up and raced across the pool.
We have a sea day tomorrow and then we will be in Kih Samui, Thailand. We’re going to an elephant preserve to feed them. Should be interesting-and hot! I think I already mentioned the elephants so it’s old news but we’re looking forward to it. Enjoy the puppet show photos.
