Indonesian Buffet Dinner

Today we sailed the Indian Ocean again. I began a Calligraphy class. Not sure how good I’ll be. Lefties have trouble making the letters at the correct angle. I’ll stick with it and see what happens. Today’s trivia was difficult for our team. It was all about Indonesia which we didn’t study up on. We grabbed a quick bite in the Cafe and went to play cards. There weren’t enough for Euchre so we played 2 tables of 5 Crowns. As usual, I had one of the higher scores.

Almost forgot, last night when we came back to the room, there were papers with all the excursions listed through South Africa. There were many safaris listed. I read them over last night and Bunny read them this morning. The paper said they would be filled on a first come, first served basis. So we talked to friends, made some decisions and filled out the form. As you can imagine, Guest Services was a mad house this morning. I handed our form to one of the ladies who was collecting them. They were time stamped and signed by the person who took them in. Rudy is looking into a private 2 night stay in a tent camp with 4 safaris. If he can work it out, we will do that instead. We’d be assured of getting our safaris and there wouldn’t be so many people in the vehicle. We’ll see what happens.
‘Then as we were leaving to meet others at pool st 3:30, there was a note on the door about the Taj Mahal trip. They were asking us to reconfirm our interest in the trip, giving us the cost, and telling us once we booked, there were no refunds. We signed it and went to Guest Services to turn it in. It doesn’t mean we’re in, but it’s looking better. So it was a pretty eventful day. We went to the pool to find it closed, so we just sat and talked until time to get ready for the special dinner. They had a Taste of Indonesia buffet. They always go all out for these types of events. The wait staff was wearing Indonesian clothing. There were flowers everywhere and a Balinese band was playing. The only problem was the line for the buffet was a 30 minute wait and it was so dark, we couldn’t see what we were taking from the items. I gave up and walked to the cafe and got some roasted chicken and rice. It was probably better than the buffet food. We all agreed the desserts looked great but were tasteless. So much effort for blah food.

We had a different entertainer tonight. Her name Is Jennifer Gray, from Australia. She put on a nice show. And now here I am writing about our eventful day.
‘The top photo is a sunset picture before we went to the buffet. The rest are of the buffet decorations. They spare no expense to make things fun and different for us.
