Last Day at Sea

it was a very dark, dreary day today. It rained off and on and the temperature was in the high 50’s. Not a day to be outside. I went to art class where we made a bookmark with the line designs. It was to represent Lisbon so it was a fish, sardine, I think. We saw fish in every shape and form in the gift shops there.
‘From there we went to the last big brunch. It was the best yet. There was lobster, omelettes, pasta, lamb, fish and shellfish any way you could think of to have it. Including mimosas and bloody Mary’s. Neither was very good but lots of people were drinking them. From brunch, it was time for our last trivia. It was all about the ship and the cruise. Once again we scored right in the middle.
‘At 3:00, Beryl and Bent had a little soirée in their room. We managed to fit 8 of us in their suite. It was crowded, but a fun time. We contributed a few bottles of beer and the cream pastries from Lisbon, kept fresh in our fridge.
‘We went to the last lecture from our favorite lecturer, Russell Lee. It was about the real history of Scotland, not the Braveheart version. We weren’t really hungry but we went to the Cafe for a snack. Then we went to play a couple games of Slider. Betty and Rudy came along and sat with us for awhile. They were helping us both out on the last game and we both scored over 10,000 points. We usually score around 4,000.
‘The entertainment tonight was the tenor from a couple nights ago along with a soprano who had been on the ship before. She is a Viking employee, formerly a cruise director. The tenor had been a cruise director too. It was like old home week. The present cruise director and her assistant came out and sang part of the last song.

Tomorrow we will be in St Malo, France. Our tour is to Mont St Michel. It’s supposed to rain all day so we will be slogging around. We didn’t think we got the tour. We were waitlisted, but yesterday we got the tickets for it. We were very happy.
‘Photos: a cloudy day in the Bay of Biscay. Scenes from the brunch. I didn’t have time to upload all the brunch photos. If I’m not too wiped out tomorrow, I may include a couple more along with rainy Mont St Michel pics.
