Last Sea Day

Tomorrow we will be in The Bay of Islands, New Zealand. It will be good to feel solid ground under our feet. Most of today was rough but it calmed down in the evening. We had the art display of all our work. It was quite impressive to see all the works laid out. There were 2 classes of 25 or so people so that was a lot of works to display. We now have 2 paintings displayed on our wall and our shadow boxes on the ledge above our beds. The pictures hang next to our dried leis from the luau in Honolulu. We are making our little room our home.

Trivia today was all about New Zealand. We didn’t know much and got very few points. We vow to study up on Australia! After a quick lunch in the Cafe, we played cards. The room where we play is on the first floor. By the time we finished, I was feeling a little queasy. I went back to the room to recover. Bunny went to the gym. We had a questionnaire to fill out. I suggested they move at least one treadmill so it’s not facing the ocean. Last time I was there I looked at my feet the whole time!

We went to a port talk, where they described Auckland, our next stop. Then there was a lecture at 6:30, then dinner in the Cafe. I could tell it was going to be a nice sunset so we sat on the back of the ship to get some photos. The sunset was ahead of us, but I also took a pix from the back . It was a pretty glow on the clouds. I’ve always heard about the green spot when the sun sets. I’ve seen it twice on this trip, but never saw it before. Maybe it’s only south of the equator??
‘Tomorrow is February 1 for us. This whole day difference is weird. I don’t understand how we get that day back that we lost. Maybe we don’t. Photos are pretty self explanatory. TIL tomorrow.
