Rough Day At Sea
Todays’s photo looks a lot different than the sunny day we had yesterday. The seas have been very rough. It’s hard to walk anywhere without holding on. We had our last art class today. Tomorrow will be our gallery showing. Then we pick up our work to take home. I really enjoyed our teacher and her assistant husband. They were great fun.
‘No trivia today because there was an elaborate brunch around the pool. It was amazing. They were serving Bloody Mary’s, I declined and had my Diet Coke. I find it so hard to choose what to eat at something so expansive, that I barely ate anything. They didn’t have the roof open or any windows open so it was getting pretty hot. My tummy started acting up again so I left and stayed in the room for the afternoon. Bunny went to play cards and to the jacuzzi.
‘We went to the Port talk about The Bay of Islands, our first stop in New Zealand. It was very interesting. We saw our Canadian friends and planned to meet for dinner. We had an hour to wait so Bunny and I went to the game tables and played the Slider game. We had been seated and were getting ready to order when I had to run from the table, another attack of Montezuma’s Revenge. After taking care of business, I went back to the desk at the restaurant and explained the situation. I asked to have my dinner sent to my room. Within 10 minutes of getting back to the room, the nurse called me. The Maitre’d had reported me! I had to go to the medical office to get medicine. As I was describing the problem, she was on the phone to the doctor. He came and said I’d probably picked up a bug on one of the stops. So I’m now on an antibiotic for a couple days. I have to go back in two days to let him know how I am. When I got back to the room, my dinner came and it was delicious, salad, lasagne and a poached pear for dessert.
We watched the entertainment on the tv in the room. Here’s hoping my tummy problems are solved. I’ve included some photos of the brunch. Yes, that is a pig hanging on a board. It was delicious. The board in back of the bread area is full of very elaborate donuts. They must have been up all night getting this ready!
Not sure what happened when I added the photos. You may see some blank spaces. Couldn’t delete them.

Hope you are feeling – watch out for all that food – enjoy New Zealand
Darn on the tummy issues. Hope you recover quickly. Sounds like the health staff is very proactive so that is great!
