Santa Barbara, California
We dropped anchor off the coast of the beautiful town of Santa Barbara. After breakfast in the restaurant, we went to the theater to wait for our call to the tender. It was a rough ride in to the pier. We boarded our bus for the Panoramic tour of the city. We went to the mission, which is a beautiful place. I did a bit of trick photography and made it look like it was on the water.
‘From there we went to the courthouse. It is a beautiful old building. We had the option of leaving the group to go inside and up into the clock tower. Since we had both done that before, we stayed with the group. We walked down the street to a shopping/dining arcade and looked at sculptures done by a local artist. You will see Bunny and Ben below. Then it was back to the harbor. We were starving so we went to a restaurant nearby and had our last American food for awhile. Then back to the ship for a rest. I talked to the kids and Matt’s family called me on FaceTime. So good to see their faces and have a conversation to catch up. We’ll do it again in Hawaii.
After dinner in the restaurant, of which I only ate half because I was still full from lunch. I hated to waste a wonderful Steak Diane, but I had a taste. I did eat all of my California hot fudge sundae though! We went to the show at 9:00 even though it was a repeat of our welcome show. We didn’t go to the one last night and missed the chairman of Viking welcoming everyone in person.
We are now at sea and really rocking and rollin’! I hope the whole trip to Oahu won’t be like this.
