Still Sailing the South Pacific

Another day at sea. This morning we took a Behind the Scenes Tour of the ship. We were led by the head of the hotel. It was very interesting. We went through the kitchens, the engineering center, the area where the food is stored, and the laundry. They have a machine there that washes, dries, irons, and folds the linens. It was huge and we were told it cost $1.4 million. We also went through the back offices where some of the crew work, the cruise director, assistant cruise director, the person who does the excursions.

We were a bit late for art class, but our friends saved our seats. Next we’re doing a shadow box. I chose a lighthouse for mine.. I’ve included a beach scene I did. It’s supposed to have a hula dancer but she looked too hard to do. I also included my pop up card. I forgot to take a picture of the front cover. I’ll include it tomorrow..

We were late leaving art class and almost didn’t have seats for Trivia. Guess we need to start getting there earlier to get our favorite spot. We didn’t do well at all today. Tomorrow I’ll go directly from art class and try to get our seats! Hope the questions are easier then!

We went to the World Cafe for dim sum for lunch. It was pretty good. They had rice, spring rolls, won ton chicken and pork Bau, dumplings. So much for eating light! I did just have a salad and baked potato tonight. I also tried mashed turnip. It tasted like thin mashed potato, not bad.

Tonight our entertainment was the same lady who sang 2 nights ago. She put on another great performance.. I’ve included some photos of the tour we took this morning. The top photo is tonight’s sunset. Below is the kitchen with some of the chefs and cooks. Also the massive laundry machine. There is a photo of Robert, the hotel manager. I also included a photo of the dim sum table. It was very good.

I may skip tomorrow unless something exciting happens .It will be another day at sea.
